Sambo Team Book Launch
On September 4, 2023, Sambo Team was launched at Aidyn Zeinalov’s exhibition space in Moscow. The much-anticipated book features stories of individuals who practiced the martial art of sambo and went on to achieve success in life. Prominent scientists, doctors, actors, cosmonauts, and politicians who had gone in for sambo shared how their sporting skills helped them explore space, perform unique surgeries, and tackle complex scientific challenges.
The book shows how sambo can change the life of a person – and a country. The fascinating history of this sport is told through hundreds of stories, recollections, and archival photos. “This book interweaves the lives of various generations of people in this country,” said, in a video message, Rashid Nurgaliyev, First Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the All-Russian Sambo Federation, and head of the working group for the development of sambo. “This book contains vivid examples that make us proud of our great martial art. Its content is unique, showcasing how our national sport empowers individuals to succeed in various walks of life and become worthy citizens of our great Russia.”
